Assistant Dive Coach
Under the supervision of the head dive coach, lead the summer dive team program.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coach and supervise divers ranging in age from 7 to 18.
- Provide feedback on technique and form for beginning to intermediate dives.
- Promote a safe, positive, engaging and supportive learning environment.
- Communicate with parents, league coaches, officials, and board members.
- Plan and implement team-building events and social activities.
Work Schedule:
- Average 20-26 hours per week from mid May – end of July
- Spring: M/W/F afternoons
- Summer: Weekday mornings
- You must also attend the 4 dive meets, 3 are typically held on Fridays in July, and the All City Finals is usually the last Saturday in July
- Coaches are expected to be prompt in meeting teams for practices and meets/matches
Qualifications:
- Understands and follows rules and regulations as set forth by all governing agencies of the sport.
- Expertise in competitive diving and experience working with children in a pool setting is preferred.
Compensation: Seasonal stipend of $3,500 – $4,800 depending on experience.
Lifeguard / Swim Lessons Instructor
Facilitate safe use of the swimming pool by members and guests. Teach swimming lessons and water safety following a set lesson plan. Requires knowledge of lifesaving, first aid, and water safety instruction.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor swimmers and enforce safety rules.
- Warn and assist swimmers in distress; administer first aid if needed.
- Participate in safety drills and staff orientation.
- Maintain pool cleanliness, record water temperature, and check chemical levels.
- Set up ropes and equipment for swim meets.
- Senior Guards may supervise the pool in the absence of the Pool Manager.
Work Environment:
- Flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, and weekends.
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
- Exposure to pool chemicals and moving equipment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 15 years old by May 1.
- Must have American Red Cross Certifications in:
- Lifeguard Training
- First Aid
- CPR (Basic Life Support for the Professional Rescuer)
Optional Certifications:
- American Red Cross Water Safety
- Northwest Lifeguard Test
- Pool Operator
Compensation: $20.76 – $23.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Assistant Swim Coach
Under the supervision of the head swim coach lead the summer swim team program, with swimmers ranging in age from 6 to 18.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coach and supervise age group swimmers.
- Provide stroke correction and positive feedback.
- Communicate with parents, league coaches, and officials.
- Plan and implement team-building programs and social activities.
Work Schedule:
- Spring: Monday – Friday, 3:30 – 6:00 PM
- Summer: Monday – Friday, 7:00 – 11:30 AM
- Additional duties include Saturday morning clinics, two swim meets per week, championship meets, team events, and scheduled meetings.
Qualifications:
- Must hold Red Cross CPR/First Aid & Lifeguard Certifications.
- Safety Training for Swim Coaches recommended.
- Experience working with children in a pool setting preferred.
- Leadership experience is helpful.
- Must complete Safe Sport training before employment.
Compensation: Seasonal stipend of $3,000 – $4,500, depending on experience.
Assistant Tennis Coach
Under the supervision of the head tennis coach, lead the summer youth tennis team program, with players ranging in age from 8 to 18.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group tennis instruction.
- Ensure discipline, punctuality, and professionalism during practices and matches.
- Maintain positive relationships with players, officials, parents, and club members.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years old by May 1.
- Experience in competitive tennis and/or tennis instruction required.
Work Schedule:
- Spring: Weekday afternoons.
- Summer: Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM.
- Five evening matches in July (5:00 – 8:00 PM) and end-of-season tournament.
Compensation: Seasonal stipend of $2,750 – $3,500, based on experience.
Intern (Speedy Six) Swim Coach
With support from head and assistant coaches, lead the speedy six program for emerging swimmers age 6 to 8.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coach swimmers.
- Provide stroke correction and positive feedback.
- Communicate with parents, league coaches, and officials.
- Provide feedback on swimmer development to the Head Coach.
Work Schedule:
- Spring: Monday – Friday, 4:30 – 5:00 PM
- Summer: Monday – Friday, 10:45 – 11:30 AM
Qualifications:
- Must hold Red Cross CPR/First Aid & Lifeguard Certifications.
- Safety Training for Swim Coaches recommended.
- Experience working with children preferred.
- Must complete Safe Sport training before employment.
Compensation: Seasonal stipend of $450 – $500, depending on experience.
